Philosophy or Religion?

…there is this beautiful
definition of philosophy by the French
philosopher Jacques Marita
that I often quote and
who defines philosophy as

the goal of philosophy [is] to liberate
oneself from suffering through the use
of Reason

  1. Some kinds of philosophy are about intellectual progress, such as the Philosophy of Science and Wittgenstein’s Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus. Some are about religion, such as Christian Philosophy (including Scholasticism, Epistemology, Theology, and Thomism). Some are practical philosophies of life, such as the six major schools of Vedic philosophy–Nyaya, Vaisheshika, Sankhya, Yoga, Mimansa, and Advaita Vedanta.
