What is nonduality?
Nonduality is the loving and intelligent use of concepts, to guide the alive discovery…
- The discovery that the distinction between “me” and “not-me” is conceptual (artificial).
- The practical exploration of “mind” and “identity” (suffering).
- The liberating insight that life is not a problem to solve, but a mystery to embrace.
It is not about super powers or unending pleasure, but the gratitude in seeing and releasing our muscle-memory, misconceptions and thinking errors.
There is only one reality, and each generation/culture uses different mental images to point to that which is beyond words:
Christianity…
‘I and my Father are one’.
Buddhism…
‘Nirvana and Samsara are identical’.
Hinduism…
‘Atman and Param-Atman are one’.
Sufism…
‘Wherever the eye falls,
there is the face of God’.
Islam…
To God belong the East and the West;
wherever you turn, there is the face of God.
Wherever you turn,
whatever you see,
whatever you touch – God’s presence is there.
It is God’s handiwork
“God sees God everywhere.”
― Francis Lucille, The Perfume of Silence
“Just be still and know I am.”
“In me you have peace, in the world you have tribulations.”
“I am with you always.”
“I am the truth, the way, the gate, life…”
Not as spiritual pep-talk, not as temporary pain-killers, but as precious pointers to simply see what IS, the gift of life.
